Alyona LarionovaInfo
Alyona Larionova is an artist and filmmaker working across moving image, sound, installation and performance. Her practice is research-led and driven by an ongoing question: how and why we tell stories. Her practice is grounded in listening. Listening to people, places and the stories they carry. She often collaborates with local communities and researchers working across different disciplines. More recently, her work has turned towards feminist and Indigenous perspectives within science and ecology, and specifically towards forms of knowledge that sit outside dominant scientific and historical narratives. Her recent projects explore power dynamics of storytelling, and its capacity to change how and where we pay attention.

Larionova holds an MFA in Media from the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, and a BA in Photography from London College of Communication. Her work has been exhibited and screened internationally at institutions and festivals including MAXXI Museum in Rome, Sharjah Art Foundation, Videobrasil, MOSTYN Llandudno, Bolzano Art Weeks and the 18th International Festival Signes de Nuit in Paris, where she received the Main Award. She was a participant in the LUX Critical Forum and received an Arts Council England Project Grant.
