Alyona Larionova is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmmaker. She uses a range of media including moving image, sound, and installation to create immersive experiences and community projects that echo a deep concern for the environment and social change. Her projects are often collaborative, driven by empathy and connection to the physical world. Recently, her research has focused on exploring decolonial and feminist perspectives within the realms of science and ecology.

Over the past seven years, she has developped intricate and complex works alongside numerous collaborators. In ‘Across Lips’ (2016), she staged the performance of a renowned jazz drummer at the Internet Archive (San Francisco). In the film ‘Staying with the Trouble’ (2018) she collaborated with a Kazakh eagle-hunter, a border control officer, and a judoist on a performative documentary. In 2021, she was awarded Arts Council England grant for her debut audio-play ‘Pioneers’ (2022). The artist is currently developping her first feature documentary.
